After retiring as a civil servant at the age of 65, Liu Dong-chou found a second career as a tour guide. Now 81 years old, Liu spends upwards of 200 days a year leading visitors on tours of Taiwan.

Liu Dong-chou Tour Guide My name is Liu Dong-chou. This year I am 81 years old and every day I get up at 6 am and walk for one hour. I also do some basic physical exercise at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall each morning.

In this regard, Liu Dong-chou is just like many older people.

Liu Dong-chou Tour Guide After I do my exercise, I go home and write essays, and then I go to the public library or National Taiwan Library, which I visit once a week to read a Japanese newspaper.
